The Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) is committed to providing prompt, high-quality emergency medical care to all residents and visitors. Our Emergency Departments operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are equipped to handle a wide range of urgent medical conditions, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.

Roxborough Hospital – Emergency Department

  • Services: Emergency and urgent care services, basic trauma and life support, transfer coordination to Scarborough

 

What to Expect in an Emergency:

  • Triage System: Patients are assessed on arrival and prioritized based on the severity of their condition.

  • Qualified Staff: Our emergency units are staffed by trained emergency physicians, nurses, and support personnel.

  • Ambulance Coordination: Emergency transport is coordinated via TEMS.

  • On-site Support Services: Lab tests, X-rays, CT scans, and pharmacy services are available as needed.

 

When to Visit the Emergency Department:

Seek emergency care immediately for symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain or shortness of breath

  • Severe bleeding or head injuries

  • Sudden weakness or difficulty speaking

  • Loss of consciousness

  • Burns, fractures, or severe allergic reactions

  • Seizures or persistent vomiting
